Resize and crop

Crop and resize images to exact pixels

ImageRecrop is a free image editor for setting precise width and height, previewing crops in real time, and exporting PNG, JPEG, WebP, or AVIF. Open the size list for presets, or read the guides for crop versus fit, export formats, and platform pixel sizes.

How to crop and resize an image

Upload a photo or graphic using the source panel, then drag the crop handles until the preview matches what you need. Width and height fields accept exact pixel values, and aspect ratio can be locked when you need a fixed proportion.

ImageRecrop processes files in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server for editing, which keeps the workflow fast and private. When you are satisfied with the preview, pick an export format and download the finished image.

Steps

  1. Click or drag an image into the source panel.
  2. Adjust the crop box and confirm the output width and height.
  3. Choose PNG, JPEG, WebP, or AVIF and optional quality settings.
  4. Download the result or copy it to the clipboard.

Common questions

Which size should I use for social media?

See the platform size table for pixels and safe areas, or open a preset from the size list.

Should I crop, fit, or fill?

Crop cuts the photo to the frame. Fit keeps the whole image and adds padding. Fill covers the frame and clips overflow. Details are in crop, fit, or fill.

Which export format should I pick?

Use JPEG or WebP for photos, PNG when you need transparency, and AVIF only if the menu shows it. See PNG, JPEG, WebP, and AVIF.
